Dwight Dixon
I began writing fiction while attending the University of Southern California where I majored in music and English. During that time, I wrote an unpublished novel, “Chimera”. After graduating, while waiting to enter Brown Graduate School in Creative Writing, I wrote “Bandwagon”, which was serialized in The San Francisco Organ, and was revised in 2014.
I started “Spirit Lake” in 1992 and completed it a year later. At that time, I was composing music for a game development company that wanted an original, frightening plot. I was asked to write a short story to generate ideas for the game. I started the short story but didn’t stop writing. “Spirit Lake” was revised in 2016 and won the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in the novel category.
After vacationing in Big Sur, I wrote a short story entitled “An Occurrence in Big Sur” that developed into a novel with the same name.
I’m currently working on a collection of short stories in between writing another novel and working on music commissions.
I live in Simi Valley with my wife Jennifer. I have one son, Clinton, and his wife Sara and two grandchildren.
